Maize drying
Viterra supports New Zealand maize growers through the whole process from crop establishment to harvest and delivery.
Growers can source seed and chemicals from us to grow maize and receive on farm and phone support from our experienced team throughout the growing process.
Once growers are harvesting, we work closely with them to coordinate delivery into our Te Awamutu and Te Puke drying facilities. On delivery we test the maize to ensure it meets required specifications and process it through our grain dryers.
Once it is dried, we store the maize on site or at our storage facilities across the country.
We value our close relationships with New Zealand maize growers and are committed to providing them with an efficient and effective service.
Commodity imports
We are one of the largest importers of agricultural commodities into New Zealand. We import from key global markets to supply a range of feed manufacturers and consumers, helping to meet the food and feed needs of locals.
Utilising our global network, we purchase quality products from South East Asia, South America, USA, Australia, Europe, and the Black Sea. We store these commodities at port or transport them to upcountry storage facilities, all the while maintaining their quality.
Once our end use customer is ready to receive their commodities, we outturn and efficiently deliver to their specifications utilising vessels, bulk containers, and trucks.
Having access to our own global bulk vessel chartering fleet gives us greater flexibility and control over coordination should requirements change.
We can always meet our customers’ needs due to our robust quality management processes, strong partnerships along the supply chain and geographically diverse network which give us the ability to supply from various origins.
Our storage and handling network allows us to strategically store commodities to supply customers across the country.
Domestic grains
We purchase wheat and barley from local growers across New Zealand to supply end use customers.
In addition to wheat and barley for flour milling and malting, New Zealand grain is a key ingredient across the pig and poultry sectors, and is now a regular ingredient in dairy diets.
We offer a range of contract options, such as ex-farm or delivered end user/Viterra store.
